MtGox Response to BitInstant CEO Arrest

Dear MtGox Customers,

Following the recent arrest of the BitInstant CEO, we believe it necessary to confirm and improve the information we hold on all customers using or having used BitInstant in the past. It’s understandable that this request may create inconveniences for customers, but we this is a necessary process to enforce MtGox policy to not tolerate any illegal usages of its platform.

As a result, we have put a hold on all accounts that have used BitInstant in the past. This means that accounts on hold cannot make deposits or withdrawals, but trades are unaffected.

If your account is on hold it can be overcome through our AML process:

  1. Never been verified? Please submit your information for verification.
  2. Already been verified before? Please submit recent documents for re-verification.
  3. Already verified to “Trusted” status? Simply need to contact MtGox Support and the hold should be lifted.
